ESGCT welcomes two Student Board Members

We are thrilled to announce that two Student Members will be joining the ESGCT Board. Joost and Larissa will be representing young investigators in Board meetings and will be advising and supporting the ESGCT Board in building our student and early post-doc communities. See below for more information about them! 

 

Larisa Condurat completed a BSc degree in experimental biology at the University of Bucharest-Romania and an MSc degree in cancer biology, with a focus on oncolytic virotherapy of cancer, at the University of Heidelberg and the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ). In 2014, she joined the Spemann Graduate School of Biology and Medicine (SGBM) in Freiburg and started her PhD in the Emmy Noether-Group for Stem Cell Biology led by Dr. Jan Pruszak. Her work focuses on the role of the Hippo/YAP-TAZ signaling pathway in neural crest development and neuroblastoma progression. 


 

Joost van Haasteren completed a BSc degree in Biomedical Sciences at Maastricht University and an MSc degree in Cell and Gene Therapy at University College London (UCL). While at UCL, he worked in the lab of Stephen Hart on CRISPR/Cas9 mediated knock-down of ENaCα in Cystic Fibrosis. He is currently doing his PhD in the Gene Medicine Group headed by Deborah Gill and Steve Hyde at the University of Oxford where he investigates the opportunities for lifelong expression or correction of therapeutic genes to treat genetic liver diseases.
